Mission Bell Sour Wheat
Our version of the classic Northern German Berlinerweiss is slightly stronger than what you would find in Germany. We aged a combination of our Nomaweiss Wheat Wine and our Kolsch in Chardonnay barrels with Acetobacter and Lactic Acid bacteria for a total of 6 months. This crisp well balanced sour has acidity that is not overwhelming when complemented with the toasted oakiness. We call it our Sour Jr.
Woman Are Smarter (Seasonal)
The base of this "flower beer" is a saison-style brew made with rose petals, star jasmine, hibiscus and spiced with cardamon. These spices complement the traditional weizen yeast profile of clove. Rose water was also incorporated in the batch to provide a subtle rose-like aroma. The overall flavor is a combination that develops with a slightly sweet and soft malt palate, intertwining floral notes, and finishes with a balanced bitterness from mild hallertauer hops, clove and cardamon.
Daedalus Barrel Aged Roggenbier
Prepare to take flight with the ingenuity of Daedalus, our Roggenbier which has been aged in casks of rye whiskey. The aroma of whiskey is evident in the bouquet along with the spice and flavor of German Weizen yeast and sour notes from the acetobacter. The texture is silky smooth with accents of clove and subtle caramelized fruit with a sour note due to the barrel aging. The elegant finish of toasted oak is accompanied by notes of soft vanilla as the alcohol warming takes effect. Whiskey character lingers for a brief moment on the palate as it evaporates beneath the wings of completely natural carbonation.
St. James Winter Warmer (Seasonal)
Our 2015 Winter Warmer is a Double Version of our Bruja Majik German-style Altbier, brewed with extra Belgian Dark Candi Syrup and copious amounts of malted barley of all varieties. After three months of aging in bourbon barrels, we bottle conditioned the batch and spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, as well as bourbon aged vanilla beans. Drink it now, or cellar it for up to 3 years.
